On July 19, 2023, two young lives were violently ended by impaired driving in BC.
While Amanda Bickell's daughter, Abbey, was killed in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Reid Davidson was driving home in Nanaimo when an impaired driver crossed onto the wrong side of a divided highway and struck his vehicle head-on. Reid was airlifted to hospital, where he fought for his life before passing away the following day.
In this deeply personal first episode of a two-part conversation, Amanda sits down with Lisa Davidson, Reid's mother, to tell the story behind the headlines.
Lisa shares memories of Reid's joyful childhood, his love of soccer, his gift for bringing people together, and the close friendships that continue to shape his legacy.
